The Shropshire Council recently issued a hygiene emergency closure notice to one of the takeaways on the county's Main Street. Environmental health officers from the council conducted a routine food hygiene inspection and discovered a number of issues. One of these was an infestation of mice in the premises. As a result, the council used food hygiene powers to issue the closure notice, forcing the takeaway to shut down immediately. Ultimately, the matter was brought to Telford Magistrates Court, where the judge made a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Order.
