A new campaign to tackle fast food in Haringey has begun. In a letter to the business secretary, two MPs have called for a ban on the delivery-only dark kitchens. The council has already received a planning application from Deliveroo for a site on Finchley Road, and another location has been mentioned by the council as Guillemot Place in Coburg Road, Wood Green. However, there are still concerns about the safety of such food outlets.

Some local councils are trying to curb takeaway restaurants near schools, but this proposal is proving difficult to implement. Initially, the council wanted to restrict takeaways near schools, but a government-appointed planning inspector rejected the plan, saying restrictions would be pointless and limit consumer choice. However, the government's draft London plan for housing and planning has failed to bring any concrete results and has been stalled in Parliament.
